Science DMZ - Texas State University's High Speed Science Network for Research
Science DMZ
In 2015, a dedicated high-speed network (Science DMZ) for use by educators and research faculty at Texas State University was implemented. It includes a data transfer node, a perfSonar network monitor node, and 10gb external connectivity, along with Internet2 connectivity via Lonestar Education And Research Network (LEARN).
Globus GridFTP is used on the data transfer node to provide a multi-stream protocol for increased transfer speeds to the Texas State University end-point as well as off-campus destinations.
