What We're Doing
The Division of Information Technology is upgrading Texas State's Identity and Access Management (IAM) system. We’re replacing our custom-built platform with Fischer Identity, a modern, more easily maintained system in-line with industry standards.
Why We're Doing This
Fischer Identity will replace our current custom-built IAM system, which has reached the end of its lifecycle. This new platform will serve as the central identity manager and toolset for NetID, password, and access management, replacing many existing tools in our Online Toolkit.
Key Benefits of Fischer Identity:
- New Interfaces: Applications like Role Management, NetID Request, Password Reset, NetID Claim Process, and User Query will will be replaced by Fischer with additional functionality.
- Enhanced Efficiency: The new system will provide a more streamlined and cohesive user experience.
- Improved Ease of Use: Fischer Identity will make it easier for new members of the campus community to establish their university credentials like NetIDs and passwords.
We welcome your feedback! If you have questions or notice any documents, web pages, or process documentation on the TXST website related to Identity and Access Management that may contain incorrect information or require revision, please use our dedicated feedback form: Fischer Identity Feedback Form. Your input helps us ensure the accuracy and clarity of our information for the TXST community.
