Our Purpose and Responsibilities

Three people working on a project together.

The IT Project Management Office (PMO) provides management and consultation services for projects and programs which include an information technology component. Our skilled product and program managers facilitate the planning, managing, and executing approved projects and programs, helping to maximize both time and resources. The PMO follows Project Management Methodology (PMM), which describes a set of processes and tools used to manage projects and report progress.

The Information Technology Division of Texas State University has developed a scalable Project Management Practice in accordance with DIR’s Project Management Practices Rule. TAC §216. UPPS 04.02.03 outlines the purpose, governance and responsibilities, scope, and description of the Practice, and how it interacts with the University’s System Development Life Cycle.
