The TXST AI in Teaching & Learning Symposium brings educators and education professionals together for two days of collaborative exploration. Presented by Information Technology, Faculty Success, and the Texas State Center for Analytics + Data Science (TXST CADS), this faculty-led symposium creates opportunities to share practical applications and relatable experiences focusing on what works in today's educational settings.
Day 1 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Marni Baker Stein, Chief Content Officer, Coursera
Marni Baker Stein is Coursera’s Chief Content Officer, where she oversees the company’s content and credential strategy and partner relationships. Marni has more than 25 years of experience in producing and scaling online and hybrid education programs. Prior to joining Coursera, she was Chief Academic Officer and Provost at Western Governors University, where she led its four colleges serving more than 135,000 students with programs that improved access and affordability without compromising academic quality. Before that, Marni held several leadership positions focused on access, student success, and program design at institutions such as the University of Texas System, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
Day 2 Keynote Speaker: Jon Rice, Director, Research Advisory Services for Education Advisory Board (EAB)
Jon Rice provides strategic counsel to EAB’s partners on a wide array of institutional priorities & challenges, offering expertise on enrollment, marketing, communications, innovation, and overarching strategy. As a Director on the firm’s Research Advisory Services team, he blends EAB’s best practice research insights with his practitioner experience to help partners drive progress and achieve their goals.
Jon brings a unique background in enrollment, strategic communications, and program management. Prior to joining EAB, he spent the better part of a decade in enrollment roles at the University of San Francisco, including serving as director of admission. He has consulted on communications and outreach strategy for non-profit and for-profit organizations including the United Nations Foundation, Ipsos Public Affairs, and USA Today. Jon is also the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to South Korea from the US Department of State.
